Mrs. Clendora Houston Lee, 90, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center following an extended illness.
Clendora was born on September 4, 1923 to Idell Carpenter in Lancaster County, S.C. Coming from Kershaw, she has spent most of her adult life in High Point. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Senior and Gospel Choirs, Missionary Circle, Kitchen Committee, and Adult Sunday School.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her mother, husband, John Henry Lee; two daughters, Parthenia Davis, and Jean Parker; son, Larry Houston; three grandchildren; and brother, William Houston. Surviving relatives include sons, John E. Lee (Lena) of Greensboro, Fred Lee and Charles Lee of High Point; daughters, Tempie Lee, Willie Mae Hill, Carol Dunlap (Walter), Linda Lee, and Sonya Lee all of High Point, and Nina Fuller (Donald) of Winston-Salem; twenty-two grandchildren; sister, Mable Glover of High Point; a host of other relatives and friends.
