Our beloved Mr. Clemon Evans Jr. (known to us all as Brother) was unexpectedly called home on January 31, 2022. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many.
Clemon was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Edna and Clemon Evans on February 11, 1959. He grew up in Brooklyn, Bedford Stuyvesant, where he attended and graduated from Girls and Boys High School. Eventually, he moved to Burlington, NC, to enjoy country life. Following, he relocated to Charlotte, NC, to presume his career as a truck driver.
Clemon was so much more than his struggles. He would do anything for a laugh and always enjoyed a good dare. He could make you laugh even when you were mad at him. Anyone that truly knew him knew he had such a big heart.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Katrina Mason and Tawana Evans; grandchildren, Oshun Mason, Jasyia Mason, Savion Evans, Bryanna Evans; great-grandchild, Willow Evans; sisters, Clementine Hall, Deborah Boone, and Michelle Evans; nieces, Linda Glenn, Tonya Lloyd, Danielle Evans, and Chantel Evans; uncles, Briston Williamson and Alvin Cunningham; Aunt Julia Cunningham; very special friend, Toni Holloway; numerous cousins and abundance of friends who loved him for who he was.
He is preceded in death by his mother Edna Mae Evans and father Clemon Evans Sr. We will greatly miss his smile and take comfort to know that Clemon is now at peace surrounded by light.
“Your smile has gone forever, your hands we cannot touch. Thank God for tender memories of the one we love so much. It broke our heart to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you when God called you home that day. Time alone can’t hear the wound, your passing left with us, but thanks be to God who giveth strength to live on as we must. So in memory, we go back, along each road that we have trod, and bless the years we had with you and leave the rest to God.”
