Salem – Clemens O. Vogt Clemens “Clem” Vogt, age 86, of Salem, died at 6:35 a.m. Friday, June 01, 2012 at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born October 2, 1925 in Ochtendung, Germany, son of the late Wilhelm and Karoline (Dahlhausen) Vogt. Clem retired from General Motors in Lordstown in 1989, where he was an assembler for 19 years. He had also worked as a bricklayer for Matt Drotleff Masonry. Mr. Vogt was a 50-year member of Salem Saxon Club Branch 19, the Salem Saxon Retirees, the Out-Spokin’ Wheelmen Bicycle Club, the League of American Bicyclists and the Adventure Cycling Association. He was also a member of the Rail to Trails Conservancy and the American Youth Hostels. Survivors include his wife, Marianne (Simon) Vogt, whom he married July 14, 1951; a daughter Caroline B. (Ray) Stone of Salem; two sons, Richard C. (Debbie) Vogt, Sr. of Salem and Robert P. (Debbie) Vogt, Sr. of Salem; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Katharina Muesch of Germany; and a brother, Polikarp Vogt of Germany. A son, Rolf Vogt and five brothers, Adolf, Johann, Edwin, Mathias, and Heinrich Vogt also preceded him in death.
