Mrs. Claudia Haynes Mitchum, age 89, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Oak Park Nursing Home in Opelika, Alabama.
Mrs. Mitchum was born in LaGrange, Georgia on February 6, 1927 to the late William Fletcher Haynes and Bessie Robertson Moore. She was a longtime resident of Lanett, Alabama and was a faithful member of the Lanett Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda McClendon Huguley, Opelika, Carolyn (Bobby) Crutchfield, Valley; a son-in-law, Danny (Libby) Maddux, Marietta, GA.; grandchildren, Cindy (Bubba) Thrash, Opelika, Lisa (Scott) Reeves, Charlotte, NC., Robbye (Galen) Smith, Valley, Chad (April) Crutchfield, Valley, Jocelyn (Robbie) Spiva, Acworth, GA., Jonathan Maddux, Marietta, GA.; 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; brothers, Norman Lee Haynes, Douglas Wayne Murphy; several special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mitchum was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Earnest Mitchum; daughter, Donna Faye Maddux; son, William “Billy” Mitchum; brother, William “Bill” Martin Haynes; son-in-law, Buck Huguley.
