Claudia Perz Whelan, of Newnan, passed away October 7, 2011.
She was a substitute school teacher in Coweta County for approximately 7 years, having worked at Newnan Crossing and Welch elementary schools and Lee Middle School. Mrs. Whelan was born in West Islip, NY on July 15, 1962 to Joseph and Elaine Perz.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Whelan, and children, Ryan Whelan and Brittany Whelan, all of Newnan; parents, Joseph and Elaine Perz, of Lakeland, FL; brother, Joe Perz of Miami, FL; brother, Chris Perz of Lakeland, FL; sister, Cecilia McGrady of Fredericktown, PA.
