Claude T. Price, age 63, a resident of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Pensacola following an illness. He was born May 8, 1949 in Salem, the son of the late Virgil E. and Janice M. (Byall) Price. Claude was a 1967 graduate of Salem High School and received his Associate Degree in Engineering from El Camino College in California. He served with the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division for 3 years with two tours in Vietnam. He worked 28 years as a Chemical Technician for BP – Amoco in both Illinois and Georgia, before retiring in 1999. Mr. Price attended the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith over the years. He moved from Georgia back to Ohio in 2000 to assist with his mother’s care in her final years. He was an avid reader. Survivors include three brothers, Verlyn E. Price of Bollingbook, Illinois, Wayne H Price of Mentor, Ohio and Paul E. Price of Muncie, Indiana; two sisters, Pearl Jean (Cline) Alexander of Painesville, Ohio and Audrey E. (Gary) Wyatt of Pensacola, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
