Claude C. Raney March 24, 1918—August 25, 2010 Bloomington—Claude C. Raney, 92, of Bloomington, IN passed away at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 25th. Born on March 24, 1918 in Monroe County he was the son of Daniel Raney and Melvina (Cowden) Raney. He was a graduate from Solsberry High School and retired as a supervisor for Crane after thirty years.
He was a veteran of WW.II serving in the Army and a member of the West Side Assembly of God Church. Claude married Cleovis I. Carmichael on September 9, 1939 and they were blessed with five daughters: LyVon Treadway; Kathleen (Dale) Conner; Judy (Bud) Dixon; Claudette Bell and Hope (Bill) McCullough all of Bloomington, IN; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; four sisters: Dorothy Vanslyke, Myrtle Sturdevant, Alice McCoy and Annabell Grimes and two brothers: Lloyd Raney and Floyd Raney.
