Claude Marvon Turnell, 78, of Maplewood Drive, Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in The Heritage of Bridgeport following an extended illness. Mr. Turnell was an Electronics Engineer and was retired from the Montgomery County Board of Education in Rockville, MD. He was born in Kearney, NE on April 7, 1932, a son of the late Delbert Crouse and Iva Sprague Crouse. He is survived by his wife, Helen Cronin Turnell, whom he married in 1972. Also surviving are three daughters, Debra Turnell, Frederick, MD, Sheryll Sanderson and her husband Bruce, Vero Beach, FL, and Monique Urban and her husband Gerry, Conifer, CO; one son, Greg Turnell and his companion Jeanne Scott, Denton, MD; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Luke, Dakota, Gregory, Bill and his wife, Crystal, Dennis, Jessica and Cory; one great grandchild, Chris; several nieces and nephews and many West Virginia relatives. Mr. Turnell was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired to Cape Coral, FL for 17 years before returning to WV. Mr. Turnell attended Bridgeport United Methodist Church and was Christian by faith. He was a very caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be deeply missed by all.
