 CLAUDE LOUIS CHAPMAN, 1939-2021

Claude Louis “Lou” Chapman, 82, of Westminster, CO, went to his eternal home Thursday, July 1, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Jo-Ann DeCaporale. Born in Alamosa, CO, Lou was the son of the late Lester and Mary Chapman. He graduated from Sheridan High School and entered the IBEW Local 111 Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program. As a lineman, safety educator, and Inventor/consultant, Lou worked for various electrical companies over his career, most prominently for Sturgeon Electric Co., Inc. and MYR Group for 38 years. He loved to travel, and – having designed and patented critical electrical components – his expertise took him to Norway, South Africa, India, Portugal and other countries. He loved to play golf, he loved his truck, but most of all he loved his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Dixie Chapman; five children – John Hottman (Tammy), Kelly Moore (Gary), Christine DeCaporale (Archie), Joseph DeCaporale (Kelly), and Susan Burrell (Mike). He had 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Chapman, and by his two brothers, Lester and Gary Chapman.
