Claude J. Marquer Jr., age 82, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Beloved husband of Marlene Miller Marquer for 62 years. Father of Claude J. Marquer III, George Marquer and his wife Twila, as well as Celeste M. Peddy and her husband Brent.
Grandfather of Steven Marquer, Ashley & Makena Marquer and also Alexis, Justin & Kathleen Peddy. Son of the late Claude J. Marquer Sr. & Genevieve Delaney Marquer. Brother of June M. Harrold, Mary M. Dauphin, her husband Marion and the late Constance M. Aucoin.
Claude graduated from the Loyola University School of Pharmacy in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. After his discharge from the Army he opened Marquer’s Suburban Pharmacy, where he served the residents of New Orleans East for over 30 years. For 6 years he operated a Wick’s N’ Sticks candle shop with Marlene in Lake Forest Plaza. He worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals-Office of Public Health for 20 years until his retirement in 2009.
