Claude “Bud” Mansfield, 88, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1924, in Jacksonville, the son of Claude Amos and Ada Watts Mansfield. He married Joyce Sooy on March 12, 1948, in Jacksonville and she preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 2000.
He is survived by two sons, Larry (Jeanne) Mansfield of Delta, PA and Glenn “G.R.” (Debbie) Mansfield of Virginia; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Juanita Cooper of the state of Washington.
Mr. Mansfield was the body shop manager at Walker Motors for many years. Prior to that he had worked for Powell Body Shop. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre, and was a member of VFW Post #1379.
