Clark “Corky” Alan Schnitker, 62 of Centralia, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his home. He was born March 2, 1954, in Centralia, son of Alvin and Louise (Rixmann) Schnitker.

He married Barbara Jaenicke on September 17, 1977, and she survives in Centralia. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his mother, Louise; a son, Chad Schnitker and wife Angie of Hoyleton; a daughter, Brooke Schnitker and boyfriend Scott Begor of Chicago; two granddaughters, Gracie Schnitker and Annie Schnitker, both of Hoyleton; two brothers-in-law, Michael Fischer of Bloomington and Paul Jaenicke and wife Leslie of Lemont; a nephew, David Jaenicke of Lemont; one uncle, Jim Rixmann and wife Ali of Bella Vista, Arkansas; an aunt, Karen Rixmann of Hoyleton; Schnitker cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Schnitker, sister, Patricia L. Schnitker, and an uncle, Jerry Rixmann. Corky attended Centralia High School, graduating in 1972. He then attended Illinois State University where he graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. Corky worked at the Irvington Elevator in Grain Merchandising for 33 years. He was a member of the Centralia Elks Lodge 493, Greenview Golf Club, Board of Directors for Illinois Grain and Feed Association, and a past member of the Centralia Rotary Club. Corky was also a very devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia. He formerly served as the Vice President and President of the Congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, served on the Board of Elders, Trinity Lutheran School Board, and served on the Christ Our Rock Foundation. Also, he served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Trinity Foundation. Corky enjoyed playing cards, playing golf, and traveling. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He also enjoyed working in financial affairs and agriculture. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his four-legged companion, Bear.
