Clarissa Adaline McGinnis, 82 of Kingwood, formerly of Newburg, WV, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Rosewood Nursing Home with family by her side. She was born on June 19, 1932 in Newburg, daughter of the late Charles William and Mildred V Stuck Phillips. Adaline graduated from Newburg High School in 1950. She was a homemaker, worked for Silcott Store in Newburg, Ross Conley in Kingwood, which later became known as the A & P Store, and Penmarva Grocery in Kingwood. Adaline sold Stanley Home Products for many years. Adaline was a member of the Newburg Methodist Church, Newburg Alumni, Kingwood Senior Center, Order of the Eastern Star of West Virginia 143 Newburg where she received her 60 year pin and was Past Matrin three times. She belonged to the Quilting Guild in Grafton and was a Cub Master for the Cub Scouts. She loved square dancing, bowling and gospel music. She is survived by four sons, William Duane McGinnis and Jeanie, Leary, GA, Joseph Lynn McGinnis and Paula, Kingwood, WV, Thomas Carlisle McGinnis and Sheila, Bentleyville, PA, Charles Timothy McGinnis and Linda, Fairmont, WV; eight grandchildren, Bethany Haymond and Justin, Kingwood, WV, Aaron McGinnis and Christine, Monroeville, PA, Shawn McGinnis, Warner Robins, GA, Melissa McGinnis, Fairmont, WV, Nathan McGinnis and Brandi, Inwood, WV, Rebekah Everson, Bonaire, GA, Matthew McGinnis, Fairmont, WV, Stephanie Lane and Ronnie, Blakely, GA, six great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Garrett, Zakkery and Darian, Gavin and Lauryn; two sisters, Katherine Harriman and Tom, FL, Charlene Bolyard and Robert, Gladesville, WV, two sister-in-law, Lois Phillips, Aurora, WV and Wendy McGinnis, Warner Robins, GA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Adaline was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Duane McGinnis in 1996; three brothers, James, John and William Phillips; one sister, Margaret Keeney.
