Clarice Mae Bartels, 88, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 5, 1920, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Oct. 7, 2009, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Clarice worked as a payroll clerk for Farm Service of Edwardsville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry E. and Frances M., nee Smith, Bartels; and sister, Melba (Omar) Hampton.
Surviving are her nephews, Michael (LeAnn) Hampton of Troy, Ill., and James (Valorie) Hampton of Troy, Ill.; great-nephews, Michael, Jared and Joshua Hampton; great-niece, Jamie Reitz; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Olivia, Cameron and Jackson Hampton and Ella Reitz.
