WASHINGTON?Claretta L. McKenna, 90, of Washington, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Washington Christian Village.
Claretta was born on September 16, 1922 in Peoria to Ben and Anna (Stomberg) Hamlin. She married William H. McKenna on October 19, 1940 in Peoria. He passed away in September of 1978 in Washington.
Among those surviving is one daughter, Mary King of Washington; two grandchildren, Stacy Lynn King of San Juan Capistrano Beach, California and Todd (Trisha) King of Las Vegas; three great grandchildren, McKenna, Madison and Sam and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Jake King; two brothers, Wally and LeRoy Hamlin and one sister, Sadie Schmidt.
Claretta had been the cafeteria supervisor at Illinois Central College for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1994.
