Mr. Clarence Wells Jackson, Jr., 93 of Newnan, GA, passed away on August 8, 2018, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born May 8, 1925, in Ashburn, Georgia, to the late Clarence W. Jackson and Corinne Betts Jackson. Clarence served in the Pacific in the US Navy during World War II. At the end of the War, Clarence returned to Georgia where he met his wife of 70 years, Jeannine Taylor Jackson, in Newnan.

After a 2 year courtship, the two married in 1948. The couple grew their family and welcomed 3 sons, Wayne, Alan and David, over the next 10 years while Clarence started his own business which he managed until his retirement in 1985. Clarence served in various lay roles at Newnan Presbyterian Church for over 65 years where he and his family enjoyed membership. During retirement Clarence could most often be found working in his yard and garden, playing golf with friends, and enjoying his ever-growing family. Clarence and Jeannine were blessed with 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren (and counting). Family and close friends are the treasure of life, and Clarence was indeed a wealthy man.

Survivors include wife, Jeannine Taylor Jackson of Newnan; sons, Wayne Edward Jackson (Jennie) of Newnan, Alan Wells Jackson (Leigh) of Newnan, David Bruce Jackson (Jeanine) of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren Michael Jackson (Rebecca) of Newnan, Corinne Jackson Hindman (Corey) of Carrollton, Jett Jackson (Audra) of Birmingham, AL, Roy Jackson (Kara) of Carrollton, GA, Henry Jackson (Katie) of Birmingham, AL, Nella Jackson Perrella (Matthew) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lillie Jackson of Birmingham, AL, Will Jackson of Atlanta; 9 great-grandchildren (and counting); special golfing buddies and numerous close friends.
