Clarence Rodney Whedbee, 74, of San Mateo, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at his home following an extended illness. He was a native of Knoxville, TN, and had lived in San Mateo since 2005 coming from Port Orange. Clarence was of the Baptist faith and had worked in the construction industry since the age of 14. He enjoyed joking, singing, woodworking, and watching NFL. Clarence loved taking trips to the mountains of Tennessee and was happiest when he was laughing and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Collins, parents, Clarence and Stella Whedbee as well as an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Vicky Whedbee of San Mateo, daughters, Stephanie Marlene Collins (Dave) of Jacksonville, and Tiffani Charlene Whedbee of Port Orange, stepchildren, Darren Ottman of Daytona and Amanda Garcia (Aaron) of Port Orange, siblings, Shirley Ortiz-Torres, Lucy Robles, Gale Metallo, Bill Whedbee, Ben Whedbee, and Magee Whedbee, sisters-in-law, Maresa Pezzulo and Karen Drosche, grandchildren, Kristen, Rachel, Sydney, Zachary, Matt, Kyle, Cheyenne, James, Chad, Savannah, Darren Jr., Blaize, Xaine, and Christian as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
