Clarence Kenneth VanBrakle, age 76, of Gettysburg, PA, formerly of Austin, Texas died peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the home of his grandson in Gettysburg, PA.
Born July 19, 1933 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, he was the son of Doris (Fisher) VanBrakle of Emmitsburg and the late Clarence VanBrakle. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Earls) VanBrakle.
Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed cooking as a chef and later retired as a mental health aide with Austin State Hospital. He attended Amos Tabernacle while living in Gettysburg, PA.
Surviving are children, Clarence Kenneth “Kenny” VanBrakle, Jr. of Austin, Texas, Dennis A. VanBrakle and wife Wanda of Gettysburg, PA, and Michelle VanBrakle and companion Paula of Garland, Texas; brothers Willie VanBrakle of Fayetteville, PA, Johnny VanBrakle and wife Tina of Harrisburg, PA, Ronnie VanBrakle and Ricky VanBrakle and wife Joyce all of Gettysburg, PA, Joseph VanBrakle and wife Sue of Conn.; sister Patsy Montouth and cousin Eddie of Owings Mills, MD.
Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Gerald “Jerry” VanBrakle, and by a brother Thomas VanBrakle.
