Clarence George “Sonny” “Geo” Engle, Jr., 64, of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in his home, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ann L. (Zsilavetz) Engle. They were married 7 years in August and spent the last 20 years together. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Clarence G. and Mary (Madison) Engle. He was graduate of Liberty High School. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 1st Infantry Division (“Big Red 1″), where he was a skilled marksman and a “Tunnel Rat”. He was a mechanic for 33 years with Heat & Frost Insulators Local #23. George was a life member of Monocacy Field and Stream, a member of the former Club Mohican, Tammany Demo Association, Rosemont Club and Rittersville Fire Company. He was an avid fisherman and loved riding his Harley with his friends, especially the Saturday and Sunday rides. Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ann; stepsons, John J. Bannon III of Bethlehem and Neil J. Bannon of Allentown; a sister, Mary A. Orwan of Bethlehem, nephews, Robert Hoffert and his wife, Theresa, Timothy Hoffert and his wife, Jamie, and James P. Orwan, 4 great nieces and a great nephew, his special buddy, Sammy. George is also survived by his wifes parents, Louis and Rosalie Zsilavetz.
