Mr. Ipock was born September 21, 1925 in Carthage, Missouri the son of Joseph Henry Ipock and Martha (Van Meter)) Ipock. He was a storyteller, soldier, businessman and a sly fox- aka Eddie and later Dr. Ed. Clarence loved his farm, his donkeys, and the quest for knowledge.
He left home at the age of 14 and rode the rails from his hometown in Carthage, Missouri to California. When he came of age, he joined the army. He met Ingeborg Backfisch in Mannheim, Germany in 1954 and they married, June 4, 1955 and were married until she passed away in 2000. He found love again with Lotte Schnaiter, who helped to care for him.
He was survived by his four children Patricia Jackson, Monica Martin, Randy Ipock and Barbara Cruz, one brother Melvin Ipock, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
