Clara Newgent of Crawfordsville died Friday at Whitlock House. She was 97.Mrs. Newgent had worked as a buyer for G.C. Murphy’s. She was educated at Salem,Wis., schools.
She was born Feb. 8, 1914, at Salem, Wis.,to William and Clara (Malzahn) Bruenning. Survivors include: daughter Judy Osborn of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Her husbands, Barney Fossum, Melvin Coffman and Clyde Newgent are deceased.
