Clara B. Kennedy, 80, of Ottawa, formerly of Pontiac, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Clara was born June 22, 1931 in Pontiac to Philip and Gertrude (Blair) Heisner.
Clara was raised on her family farm. She took care of all creatures great and small and her love for all began. She worked in Streator at Lipton Tea in the 1950’s. She married George Kennedy Jr in Hernando, Mississippi on January 30, 1955. They made their home on Ottawas south side in 1958.She was a mother of all that came to the door, including many four legged creatures. Her generosity will be missed.
She is survived by 10 children; Pat (Dawn) Kennedy of Mackinaw, Brian Kennedy of Las Vegas,NV, Jami (Dallas) Kennedy-Rice of Ottawa, Brad Kennedy of Ottawa, Kelly (Norma) Kennedy of Ottawa, Dana Kennedy of Ottawa, Lisa (Tony) Ceja of Grand Ridge, David (Siobhan) Kennedy of Ottawa, Jennifer (Rob) Merideth of Oglesby and Corrine (Mike Carpenter) Kennedy of Ottawa; 23 grandchildren, Jeremy, Melanie, Corinne, Jessica, Jacob, Nick, Nancy, Danny, Carlos, Chad, Ch, Nastasha, Natalia, Dylan, Chandra, Shannon, Laci, Hope, Aiden, Declan, Bailey, Reid and Drew; 15 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Paige, Justin, Vanessa, Marissa, Brielle, Isabella, Nicky Jr, Danny, Morning Star, Terri Lynn, Channing, Aalya, Micah and Iziah; 1 sister Flossie Hillier of Streator; 5 step grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; 1 half sister Elizabeth Turner of Chicago and her loving pets; Cody, Glory, Maggie and Josephine who were always by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George on April 27, 2005; 2 sons Danny and Richard; granddaughter, Nancy Kennedy; 2 great-grandsons, Haven and Scottie Kennedy; 2 brothers, Philip and James Heisner; 1 sister, Maggie Elliot and 1 half sister Carrie Brown.
