Clara A. Scholz of Hebron, NE the daughter of Frank and Louise (Siebenneicher) Meyer was born July 21, 1909 in Chester, NE. She departed this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 98 years.
Clara’s family lived in the Chester, Gilead, Deshler and Hebron areas. She attended a country school until she was in the eighth grade and then worked at the Deshler Broom Factory in Deshler, NE. Clara said she had to have a special permit to work there because of her young age.
Clara married Herman Scholz on November 7, 1926. She became a housewife and Herman was a farmer. Clara and Herman raised two daughters and a son; Darlene, Verlene, and Robert. Clara and her family moved from Chester to a farm near Hebron. Herman was killed in a tragic tractor accident in 1961. Clara then moved into Hebron and has lived there ever since that time.
Clara was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, reading, and baking (especially cinnamon rolls).
