Claire C. Dorough “Cookie” 88, of Birmingham was born in Columbiana, Al.. She attended Howard College and earned her BA. She and her husband owned Jack Dorough Apothecary. She was preceded in death by husband T. Jack Dorough and parents Boling Z. and Mae Brunson Cooper. For more than 50 years Cookie enjoyed membership in over 20 patriotic and historical organizations where she held local, state and national offices and received dozens of honors and awards. Genealogy was her great passion for over 50 years, tracing her ancestry back to King Charlemagne in the 8th century. She also belonged to local, state and national retail Druggist Auxiliaries. She was a long time member of Huffman United Methodist Church. Cookie is survived by son Larry J. Dorough (Susan), daughter Kerrye D. Milhorn (John), grandsons Brent Dorough, Chris Dorough (Lauren), Barry Milhorn, Tony Milhorn (Leslie) and great grandchildren Brooklyn, Griffin, Trey and Kailey.
