Claire was born on August 6, 1974, in Niles, Michigan. She attended First Assembly Christian School and graduated from Niles High School and Bethel College. She married David Joseph Arpasi III on November 5, 2002 in Cancun, Mexico. She worked for 1st Source Bank, United Airlines and Liberty Mutual Insurance since graduating from Bethel College. Claire was an avid reader and an accomplished fiber artist and designer. Claire discovered her passion for sailing in 2013 and after earning numerous sailing endorsements, she earned her sailing instructor certification and has shared her sailing expertise and love of sailing with every student she has taught.
She is survived by her husband, David Arpasi; her parents, Phyllis Panozzo of Niles, Michigan, and David (Barb) Van Horn of Granger, Indiana; her sister, Teresa (Luan) Nguyen of Ruskin, Florida; her brother, Michael (Sarah) Van Horn of Dearborn, Michigan; her step-brother, Christopher (Janet) Eagon of Canton, Ohio; her step-sister, Amanda (Eric) Bailey of Greenfield, Indiana; nieces, Hannah Nguyen, Zoe Eagon, Emily Eagon, Brenna Bailey, Lucy Bailey, Harper Bailey and nephews, Alexander Nguyen, Carter Van Horn, Tyler Eagon and Beau Bailey; and her two cats, Simba and Jade.
