Mrs. Clair Holman the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rena James Washington was born August 8, 1909 in Eutawville, SC.  She entered into eternal rest on September 4, 2014.  She grew up in Eutawville, SC and attended the public schools there.  She had one sister, Ms. Queenie Washinton Dessasure who preceeded her in death.

At an early age she became a member of St. James Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed.  She was a member of several organizations.  She was a member of  The Sons & Daughters of Job Briner Lodge #122.  At Greater Unity AME Church, she served on the Prayer Band and The Sixty Plus Club.  At St. James Baptist Church, she was a member of the Missionary Ministry.

She was married to Mr. William (Duke) Holman of Holly Hill, which preceeded her in death.  She has three daughters; Estelle Holman, Mammie Holman and Nore Lee Clark (deceased); One son-in-law, Leroy Clark.  She raised her grandchildren; Nora Jean Smith, Lavern Clark, Ernell (John) Johnson, Vernette Holman, Gloria Clark, Jennifer Clark, Patricia Clark and Willey Clark.  There are two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter that preceeded her in death.  She had 11 grandchildren, 18 great grands and 37 great-great grands and 1 great-great-great grandson.  She had a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
