Claborn “Fairbanks” Wallace, the eldest son of Sarah Garner Chairs of Decatur, Alabama, and Claborn Fairbanks of Chattanooga, Tennessee was born on March 8, 1950. Both parents are deceased.  He departed this life on June 24, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

He confessed a belief in Jesus Christ, accepting him as his Savior and was a member at David Temple in Decatur.

He received his education in the Morgan County School System, graduating from Morgan County Training School in Hartselle, Alabama in 1967.  After graduating from high school he joined the Air Force where he served four years and was honorably discharged in 1971, and returned to Decatur where he began his twenty-five years of employment with Conagra, until he retired because of his debilitating battle with kidney failure.

He was united in marriage to his devoted wife, Judy Faye Scott Wallace for forty-five years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Richard “Grip” Garner of Decatur.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Judy Faye Scott Wallace; three sons, Cedric Wallace, Marlon Wallace and Daryl Wallace all of Decatur; one brother, Claborn (Gloria) Fairbanks of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Angela Galloway and Patrice Fairbanks both of Chattanooga, TN; six grandchildren, Megan Talley, Allyssah (Travis) Smith, Tyree Talley, all of Huntsville, AL, Brooklyn Wallace of Decatur, Deshon Wallace and Jerimiah Thomas of Madison, AL; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
