Chuck Ray Self, age 62, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday January 1, 2011.
Mr. Self is preceded in death by his parents, Carl C. and Nellie Self. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Self was a Vietnam War Veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm; Good Conduct medal; Vietnamese Service Medal with 4*; Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V”; Vietnamese Campaign Medal with Device; Combat Action Ribbon; and Presidential Unit Citation. He loved fishing, camping, working in his yard, watching Auburn Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball.
Mr. Self is survived by his son, Christopher Ray Self and his grandson, Cameron Michael Self, both of Anniston, AL; and a brother, Richard Self, of Sylacauga, AL.
