Christy A. Johnson, 90, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Terril, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2008, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. He was born on August 21, 1917, in Boxholm, Iowa, to Arthur and Nellie (Will) Johnson.
Christy was united in marriage to Alta M. Dotson in Spencer, Iowa. Alta passed away May 3, 1999.Christy graduated from Lake Center High School in 1936.
Christy and Alta lived in Des Moines during World War II, working for Voidt Company. After World War II, they moved to Clay County and farmed, until they retired in 1981.
Christy was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Barber Shop Choir, the church choir and the Golden K Kiwnais. He enjoyed spending his spare time fishing, hunting, camping and singing.
Christy is survived by his two children, Norman Johnson, and his wife, Laura, of Dickens, and Joyce Spieker, and her husband, Jim, of Spencer
