She was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Avery, and brother, Greg Avery.
Ms. O’Neal is survived by her daughter, Emma O’Neal, Flowery Branch; brother, Fred Avery, Jr, Fernandina Beach, FL; sister, Cathey Dukes, Centerville, GA; and mother, Sally Avery, Centerville, GA.
My mom was the most understanding and patient person and always the one who was there to listen. She especially loved to listen to the sound of the oceans and the barreling waves that hit the sand. She loved to watch the sunrise over the horizon as the water washed over her feet and was always the first one to walk on the beach whenever we went. It never took a lot to make my mom happy.
