Christopher Ryan Kik was born October 16th, 1998, to Brandi Loding and Daryl Kik in Wichita, Kansas. The family also resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Las Vegas, Nevada, and North Carolina with his dad, and then when he was 15 came to live here in Idaho. He attended high school at Sky View and Kuna High Schools. He started working at Wendy’s where he built friendships that stayed with him throughout the years. At Wendy’s, he also met his best friend and future wife Hannah Kik.

Chris began “getting to know” Hannah in April of 2015 and began dating her on November 28th, 2015. On November 28th, 2017, he asked Hannah Buchanan to be his wife. Over the years of their courtship, he was accepted into Hannah’s family. Nick Colivas took Chris in and eventually became his guardian. With the blessing of their family members, Chris and Hannah were wed on September 13th, 2019, in a beautiful garden in Emmett, Idaho.

Chris and Hannah purchased their home together in Nampa shortly before they were married. They resided there with his brother Aaron Kik, Tyler, and later Joey as their roommates. They filled their home with laughs and love for each other and their pets. Maxwell and Zeke were their cats, Buddy and Nala their dogs, and Ralphie their fish.

Chris was spontaneous and loved an adventure. Whether it was a trip to mountains or a road trip across states, Chris was joined by friends and family to create memories that would last a lifetime. He was not only fun but also extremely smart. His passions included cars, computers, and video games. Chris was also a business owner at Kik Tile. He taught himself the in’s and out’s of running a business and completed many beautiful projects. His brother Andrew joined him as co-owner with a 49% stake to start the business. Later Tyler joined their team. Chris was an incredibly hard worker, and all his clothes showed it.

Chris was not one to be serious, always with a smile that brightened the room. No matter if he was working or hanging out at home, there was always a prank or joke to be had. He had a dry, sarcastic humor that will be remembered through the stories of that those knew him best will forever retell.

Chris is survived by his wife and the love of his life Hannah, mother Brandi and father Daryl, guardian Nick, siblings Aaron, Andrew, and Ashley, grandmother Mary, aunts and uncle, Amber, Amy, and Jeremy, and the family that he married into, Jim and Leanna Buchanan, Heather and Brian Hise, Alan, and Skyler. He was preceded in death by his “Papa” Irvin Shaw.

Chris will be forever in hearts and an angel watching over us. Thank you for all the love you shared.
