Sarge was born March 24th, 1962, in San Diego, CA. He was a resident of Castle Rock, CO since 2005, before that his military career took him a great many places.
Sarge was a lover of many things. Food was the passion he was most known for. Sarge found immense joy in cooking for his friends and family. He knew it more than just sustenance for the body, it was nourishment for the soul. To dine with Sarge was a treat and a privilege. He cooked from his heart and made everything with extreme care and love. Almost anyone can make a deviled egg, but his eggs held personality; all held divine flavor, but some were faces make with olives, or cornichons or any number of things that he felt would make your palette happy and bring a smile to your face. Wine was another favorite, because consumption usually led to deep and intriguing conversations that would burrow deep into your mind and soul and stay with you long after the wine was finished.
A recently discovered passion was painting, he took a painting class for veterans in Castle Rock and found that he had a knack for it and truly enjoyed the activity. He joined an art program, and, in his very Sarge-like manner, he left an impression and touched many people within the art community. The group has been renamed ‘Sarge Flanagan Veterans Art Program’ in his honor.
Sarge was married to Jaquie in Castle Rock, CO October 2007. He is retired Air Force, MSGT.
