With deepest sorrow, we announce that Christopher George Laurens, age 39, of Smyrna, GA, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Laurens.
Christopher is survived by his stepfather, Pete Scrocca and his mother, Arlene Scrocca of Buford, GA; sister, Dawn Laurens, Smyrna, GA; brothers, Michael Laurens, Smyrna, GA, Jason Moody, Buford, and Peter T. Scrocca, Buford.
Christopher (Chris) was a graduate of Campbell High School in Cobb County.
Being such an ambitious young man, Chris started his own ‘tool repair business’ in his twenties. He worked at Home Depot for several years as Head Technician of Equipment & Power Tool Repair. He recently decided to join in ‘the family business’ in Gwinnett doing electrical work with his brothers and stepdad in Buford.
As a young boy he enjoyed being on the local swim team, leading the Boy Scouts and served as an alter boy at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Smyrna. If you were lucky enough to be one of his friends – you would know that Chris enjoyed helping others.
He was a truly delightful, generous, easy-going, and an all around fun-loving human being. Chris was getting close to completing one of his numerous life accomplishments when he suddenly fell ill. As he was reaching that final bump in the road – he unexpectedly left his family and many, many friends. For all those that knew Chris, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
