Christopher Joseph DeAngelo, 65, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Des Moines. Christopher was born February 15, 1956, in Des Moines, IA, to James and Barbara (Seals) DeAngelo.
CJ served extensively in the US Navy, retiring with distinguished honors. While in the Navy, he travelled the world and spent a lot of his time on aircraft carriers. He worked as a flight photographer and then later became a training officer and recruiter. CJ achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer E7 by his retirement. In his later years, CJ went back to his artistic roots creating art full-time as well as doing part-time catering. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and the friendships gained through that community. A true artist and romantic at heart, he loved everyone, especially women and beautiful things.
CJ is survived by his daughter, Aimee (Louis Evon) Achilli; brothers, Michael Anderson, Vince DeAngelo, Matt DeAngelo; sister, Steph Agee; mother, Barbara; grandchildren, Madeleine and Victor; as well as his best friends and all those that loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, James DeAngelo.
