Christine Frances Vollman, 95, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Tuesday evening, February 22, 2005, at Riveridge Manor, Niles, Michigan. Christine was born August 2, 1909, in Three Oaks Township, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Schuille) Donner.

After graduating from Three Oaks High School in 1927, she continued her education at the Business College in South Bend, Indiana. Christine was employed in the office of the Warren Featherbone Factory, and one summer she filled in as a secretary for Carl Sandberg. On June 3, 1933, she married Charles H. Vollman in Three Oaks. Charles preceded her in death on December 8, 1978. Christine enjoyed crocheting, sewing and knitting and created many outfits, hats, mittens, scarves, and afghans for her children and grandchildren. She was a good cook who canned much of her own food and also enjoyed flower gardening. Christine was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Three Oaks and was a charter member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Three Oaks Book Club.

Survivors include her children, Nancy Francis of Three Oaks; Charles (Carol Ann) Vollman of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania; Margery (Ken) Taylor of Traverse City, Michigan; Mary (James) Ferguson of Olathe, Kansas; Tom Vollman of Chicago and Ann (Wayne) Weberg of St. Joseph, Michigan; grandchildren, Susan Haan, Mason, Michigan; James Francis, Three Oaks; Mark Francis, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Bryan Francis, Almont, Michigan; Charles Vollman, Macomb Twp., Michigan; Gregory Vollman, Cranberry Twp., Pennsylvania; Lori Zimmer of Cranberry Twp., Jennifer Ghesquiere, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; Jeffrey Taylor, Franklin, Michigan; Megan Ferguson, Olathe; Jocelyn Weberg, St. Joseph; great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Shelby, Samantha, Brooke, Brittany, Erika, Lindsay, Jacob, Taylor, Chase, Lily, Gavin, and Brett.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Helen Donner, brothers, Lawrence and Garrett Donner, and her son-in-law, James Francis.
