Christine L. (Carey) Kaloupek of Weymouth and formerly of Plymouth, passed away at home on November 2, 2020 at the age of seventy. She was the beloved wife of the late John L. Kaloupek; loving mother of Carey Dunphy and her husband James of Halifax, Jennifer Kaloupek of Connecticut and the late Robert Burfening; cherished grandmother of Ashley Petrou, Mackenzee, Riley and Aiden Dunphy. She was the sister of Steven Carey, Candace Landers and Brian Carey, all of Plymouth. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.Christine was born on May 13, 1950 in Brockton to Robert and Catherine (Davis) Carey. She grew up in Dorchester, attended Girls Latin in Boston and then moved to North Dakota, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree, while raising a family. She taught special education for many years in North Dakota before moving to Plymouth and teaching for the Plymouth schools until her retirement. She was known for her incredible patience and was nicknamed “Ma Pan” by some of the kids she took under her wing. Christine loved her family and her life revolved around her grandchildren. She had a soft spot for dogs and was a proud pet owner throughout the years. She was a gentle and caring person and loved and was loved by everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.
