Christine “Kitty” Jimenez spread her wings to heaven in the early morning hours of April 27, 2022, while at home with her family by her side.
Kitty was born to the union of Cristobal and Victoria Montelongo on August 20, 1944 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was a proud Central Wildcat, class of 1963. Kitty attended Southern Colorado State College, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1972. She followed in her father’s footsteps as a committed and accomplished Federal Government Employee, eventually serving as an Operations Supervisor at Social Security Administration.
Always an independent, strong, active, resourceful, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, auntie, and friend, Kitty’s infectious laugh and sense of style lit up our lives and touched our souls.
She cherished raising her lovely daughters, Julie and Emily while providing them with a strong foundation of love, learning and faith. She shared her fun loving spirit with them, and they will, no doubt, carry their mother’s zest for life, taste for adventure and passion for family traditions in all they do. She endured the pain of loss with the passing of her darling husband James, her dear parents Cristobal and Victoria Montelongo and in-laws Jenny and Carlo Jimenez.
She will continue to be celebrated in life by daughters Julie (Erica Espinoza) Jimenez and Emily (Josh) Sisneros. Grandchildren Taylor DeHerrera and Layla and James Sisneros. Sisters Sally Natividad, Lupe (Bob) Beltran, and Eleanor Gutierrez, and special cousin Nancy McDonnell. In-laws Robert (Christine) Jimenez, Rita (Ray) Gonzales, Michelle (Terry) Olguin, and Mike (Debbie) Jimenez, nieces and nephews Chris (Andrea) Beltran, Michelle (Rick) Shedd, Bobby (Darlene) Beltran, Lance Gutierrez, Kim (Andrew) Cura, Dale Natividad, Dezi Gutierrez, Vicky Beltran, Ryan McDonnell, Megan McDonnell, Renee Gonzales, Rick (Breanne) Gonzales, and Janine (Jerrad) Wright, her many great nieces and nephews. Her lifelong friends MaryLouise (ChaCha) Guerrero Cordova, Loretta Jaquez, and Lorie Pena-Helm
