Christine (Chris) Marie McCauley, was born May 20, 1958, to Harold and Jennie (Hoffman) McCauley. She departed this life on October 30, 2022, at Kearney, Nebraska.
Chris was born at the rural family home north of Edgar, Nebraska at a time when doctors made house calls. She grew up on a farm in the Edgar/Clay Center area. Chris received her education from the Clay Center public schools, graduating with the class of 1976. She continued her formal education at Kearney State College (now known as UNK) graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in May 1980. During the summers, Chris worked for Clay Center Parks & Recreation as an Assistant Summer Coordinator coaching softball and taking care of the concession stand.
Surviving are her sister, Donita Roemmich of LaSalle, Colorado; nieces: Jennie Roemmich (Will Owsley) and great nephews, Liam Owsley of Evans, Colorado; Heather Roemmich of Durango, Colorado; Jacy McCauley of Beatrice, Nebraska and nephew, Cody McCauley of Beatrice, Nebraska; Aunt, Kay Bailey of Mynard, Nebraska; uncle, Bob Hoffman of Arkansas and numerous cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and Jennie McCauley; sister, Viv McCauley; brother, Duane McCauley and brother-in-law, Steve Roemmich. Also maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
