Sister Christene Peeples Williams was a twin born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Monroe and Maggie Peeples on March 29, 1920 in the Kansas community outside of Gurdon, AR.

As an adult she met and married the late James Williams; later into the marriage they moved to Gurdon sharing 51 years of wedded bliss through God’s grace. Together as a couple they were the parents to nine children and they together made many adjustments and sacrifices to provide for their family. Sister Williams worked on various jobs and retired from International Paper Company. God’s grace was always the first and foremost start of her journey.

After 97 years of blessings from God, the sweet spirit of Christene Williams was called home to Glory. Those gone on before her include her husband, James Williams (1992), her twin sister, Earnestine Davis (2010), one sister, Mamie and 3 brothers, Clarence, Henry and Gentry Peeples, her granddaughter Doretha Renea Kirby (1995), 3 sons; Linus LeeVell Williams (2009), Lee Truman Williams (2008) and Hershall Williams (2013).

Those left to treasure the memories and milestones of her life include: six children, Mack Williams of Phoenix, AZ, Maxine White, Katrine (James) Gentry, Janice Turner, Albert Williams and Sanvernita Williams all of Gurdon, AR. A God daughter, Linda Galberth of Benton, AR, a multitude of grandchildren totaling 6 generations, a foster mother to 2 sons, Apollo Blake, Sr. and Jeffrey Blake and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Her House was always open to whoever entered in love. Christene “MyMy” Williams will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
