Christene Carol Hodgkins
Christene Carol Hodgkins, 75, of Tunnelton, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown with family by her side.
She was born October 4, 1941, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late John G. and Ocie Mae Sterling Childers.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and presently is a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She had served as the St. Joseph parish council chairperson and was a Eucharistic minister. Christene had worked for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, the United States Weather Bureau, Valley Public Health and Hospice Care Corporation now WV Caring. She also was a member and had served as President of the Col. Rowan Post 2345 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edmund Hodgkins, three sons, Frederick (Jack) Hodgkins and wife, Cindy Weaver and Matthew Hodgkins, all of Kingwood and Mark Hodgkins and companion, Kim McCloud of Tunnelton; a daughter, Ann Marie Johnson and husband, Neil of Vienna, VA; three brothers, Bill Childers and Emery Childers, both of Tunnelton and George Childers of Warrenton, VA; a sister, Nancy Johnson of Tunnelton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, John R. Childers and a grandson, Daniel Hodgkins.
