The following is a courtesy listing for Don & Darlene Petersen, his entire family and my friend, Chris Petersen.

Chris Allen Petersen was born on May 24, 1961 in Holdrege, Nebraska and passed away on April 1, 2016 in Sandy, Utah.

Chris was baptized at the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska in July of 1961, and was confirmed in 1975, at the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska.

Chris attended Superior Public schools, graduating with the Class of 1979. While attending high school he was involved in the band and other organizations. After graduating from high school he attended both Hastings and Kearney Colleges.

On March 24, 1990, he married Denise Utterback. This union produced two children, Benjamin and Jenna. They later divorced.

He served in the United States Army Reserve as a Cavalry Scout (19D) and also as a Drill Sergeant for his unit. He was honorably discharged in 1991.

In 1991, he was accepted into the Federal Aviation Administration Academy located in Oklahoma City where he excelled and made many lifelong friends. Upon graduation he was awarded a position as an Air Traffic Control Specialist in Salt Lake City ARTCC, where he worked for 24 years, and retired in 2015.

Chris enjoyed cars, grilling, fishing, sailing, camping and anything that got him outdoors, especially with his friends and family.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ben Petersen; daughter, Jenna Petersen; his parents, Don and Darlene Peterson; his best friend, Renn and many more family and friends.
