Chiqueta Iona Gustaitis Age 85 of Charlotte, N.C. passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018.Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2pm at the Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel with Pastor Marlene Webster officiating. Burial will follow at Laingsburg Cemetery, Laingsburg, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until the time of service.Chiqueta was born July 27, 1933 in Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of Raymond and Josephine (Scaff) Sexton.She was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group; a founding member of Southwest Church of the Nazarene in Gregory, Michigan where she was the music director.Chiqueta married Leopoldo Gustaitis in Millington, Michigan on November 8, 1952; he predeceased her on July 16, 1983.Chiqueta was a homemaker and spent her life raising her family as well has being active in her church.Chiqueta is survived by her children Leo Richard Gustaitis, Brian Leo Timothy Gustaitis, Steven Leopoldo Gustaitis, Barbara Ann Gustaitis and Joseph Leo Gustaitis; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and other loving family and friends.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.Online condolences may be sent to the family at Nelson-House.com.
