Chief Augustine Agolum “Austin” Onianwah was born November 14, 1950 to the late Felix Onianwah, a prominent rubber plantation owner and the first Customary Court Judge in Ibusa and the late Juliana Nweke Onianwah, who would later become the first female merchant in their township of Ibusa. He was the seventh of his father’s eleven children and second of his parents’ two sons. He experienced four brothers preceding him in death, the twin of Rufus Taiwo (at birth), Boniface Chike (1976), Rufus Taiwo Dikedi (1991), and William Enujeko (2012).

He leaves to cherish his memories, his “Sweetheart,” wife, Omeba Vera; a daughter, Ngozi Baker (John); a son, Nkem; a beloved grandson Grant Baker; his surviving siblings Mary Owegboto Asiegbu (Joseph); Nicholas Ndukka Onianwah (the late Patricia), Emmanuel Eboh Onianwah, Gloria Onyebuchi Nwabike (Monday), Nwanze Onianwah (Nosiphiwo), and Patience Chizoba (Chinedu); two Sisters in-laws of his deceased elder brothers; hosts of nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.

Augustine will surely be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and interacting with him. May he rest in eternal peace.
