Chester Ray White, age 79, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, at Fountain Circle Health and Rehabilitation in Winchester.
Born August 25, 1936, in Clearfield, he was a son of the late Clyde Vernon White and Bertie E. Caudill White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Glenna L. White Workman.
He is survived by one daughter, Angela Faith White of Morehead; one brother, Lloyd D. White and wife Taeko of Georgetown; one sister, Wanda Mae Carpenter of Lexington; four grandchildren, Cheyanna White, Decklan Robinson, Charity Gaines, and Autumn Adkins; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Chester served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot in Avon and formerly worked at US Steel in Mansfield, Ohio. Chester enjoyed playing on the computer, fishing, hunting, playing and teaching his grandchildren how to play poker; and watching U.K. basketball.
