Chester DeForest Diehl,71

North Greenbush Chester DeForest Diehl,71,of Paladino Lane, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Melrose, he was the son of the late Harold Diehl and Ethel (Brunick) Diehl and husband for 47 years of Elizabeth Clara Gwinn Diehl.

He had resided in North Greenbush area most of his life and summered at Lake Champlain in Ticonderoga.

Mr. Diehl was employed at Behr-Manning in Watervliet, now Norton Company, for 36 years, retiring in 1986 as a forklift operator.

He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and a veteran of the US Army stationed in Panama.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Donald F. DuPont of Averill Park and David E. DuPont (Sarah) of Wynantskill; a daughter, Brenda L. Diehl (Mark A. Bachand) of Wynantskill; two brothers, James F. Diehl (Georgianna) of Poestenkill and Clifford Edward Diehl(Christine) of Latham; a sister, Rose Bronk (Walter) of MA; seven grandchildren, Jason and Nicholas DuPont, Justin Diehl, Kale Groff, David DuPont Jr. and Hunter and Brady DuPont and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Eva Kelly and Pauline Carr and a step sister, Ethel VanRanken and a step brother, Ernest D. Diehl.
