Cheryl J. (Kraucunas) Klein, 56, of Peru, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Rochelle Gardens Healthcare Center in Rochelle. Mrs. Klein was born August 10, 1961 in Oak Park to John and Jean (Yarus) Kraucunas. She married Robert L. Klein on September 3, 1988 at Zion United Church of Christ in Peru where they were members. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois State University and worked as a social worker with children with special needs. She was a huge 80’s rock fan and was an incredible Cub Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two sons, Robert J. (fiancée, Christina Edgcomb) Uzumecki of Peru and Nicholas R. (Amber) Klein of Ft. Rucker, AL; six grandchildren, Landon, Makenzye, Stella, Kambrie, Autumn and Hayden; her sister, Carol (William) Halliday of Racine, WI; her brother, John (Barbara) Kraucunas of Mundelein and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Connie Kraucunas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
