Cheryl A. (Murphy) Tremblay passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021 while surrounded by her family. She was the extraordinarily devoted wife of Dana E. Tremblay for 50 years. Cheryl valiantly fought Leukemia and Lymphoma and spent many years in a fierce battle with Graft versus Host Disease.
Cheryl was born in Salem, MA and raised in Danvers, working her early adult years at her family’s business, Murphy’s Fruit Mart. She is a graduate of Danvers High School, class of 1969. She also graduated from Boston Children’s Hospital school of Nursing in 1972 and completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Salem State University.
Cheryl had a very rewarding 35 year career caring for premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit at both Salem Hospital and Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She later left winter behind and moved to Melbourne, Florida to continue her career caring for medically fragile children at the Kids Club Medical Day Camp. Cheryl had many other endeavors in the medical field, including instruction in childbirth, CPR and neonatal resuscitation.
An avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction books, she enjoyed learning and sharing her knowledge all through her life. She also enjoyed travel and trips to Disney with the kids. She had many hobbies including, sewing, knitting, ceramics, gardening and bird-watching. She was an excellent cook and baker and she never forgot a birthday or anniversary.
Generous and kind with little tolerance for nonsense, she lived for looking after and supporting her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Joanna Beske and her husband Heath and their daughters Sienna and Calista of Orange, CA and son Daniel and his wife Sarah and their son Charles of Danvers.
She is also survived by her brother, Brian Murphy of Danvers and her sisters Susan Dembowski, Janis Conway and Diane Brinkley, all of Danvers. She was predeceased by her parents, James F. Murphy and Marie C. (Slattery) Murphy.
Cheryl leaves numerous cherished friends and relatives including her many nieces and nephews.
