Cheryal Ann Jefferson, age 67, died on November 28, 2021, following complications from Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in Alamosa, Colorado Cheryal was the daughter of the late Quentin and Fern Jefferson.   She graduated from Centauri High School and briefly attended college in Indiana and at later at Adams State.

Cheryal lived in Alamosa and was employed for many years at Walmart before moving to Cortez Colorado in 2002 with her partner Rick Stacer.   Cortez was the perfect environment to nurture their shared interests in Anasazi culture and metaphysical phenomena.

She was an avid historian with interests in archeology, space technology, biblical history, and ancient cultures.   Cheryal learned to crochet at very early early age from our Grandma Adolf and was a skilled artisan.   In the 60+ years since, she designed and crocheted hundreds of afghans, blankets, doilies, shawls, and ornaments.   Sadly, in the last year as her dexterity dwindled, she was unable to continue her craft.

She medically retired in 2007, and later diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.  Cheryal moved into assisted living, and later transferred to a skilled nursing facility.    Cheryal eventually underwent surgery to implant a nerve stimulator to help control the worsening tremors.   And while she saw immediate improvement, the disease continued to progress rapidly.

Cheryal is survived by her sister, Melodie (Andrew) Garrobo and number of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.   She was preceded in death by her partner, Rick Stacer, and her parents Quentin and Fern Jefferson.
