  • Date Of Death: January 16, 2021

Chenelle Monique Jones was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 12, 1999 to Melvin Launell Jones, Jr. and Candace Lynette Hooks-Jones. She was also known as “baby girl” or “lil momma”. Most of her family and close friends just referred to her as “Nelly”.

“Nelly” grew up around a close knit circle of friends mostly from the 40th & Boulevard area which was the absolute heart and soul of who she was and what she represented everywhere she went. After graduating from North Central High School she found work and set out to do what she loved most, other than cruising in her car, and that was writing and recording music with her brothers and close friends that shared the same ambition. “Nelly” was always focused on her dream and strong at heart possessing a loving and lively spirit that shined no matter where she went. She had a beautiful smile and a giving disposition and would do anything for her family and those she was close to. “Nelly” shared the last few years of her life with her beloved partner Ms. Gyra Diane Irving. She and “Nelly” did most everything together and deeply cared for one another and she was at “Nelly” side when she perished. Our heart goes out to her and we are right here with her in her grief and whole heartedly acknowledge how special she was to our lil momma.

“Nelly”  was so special and truly had a lively loving and comical spirit. She always knew how not to worry about things that were insignificant and stayed strong for us all. Chenelle Monique Jones will undoubtedly live on in our hearts forever.

Her life was taken quickly  within the blink of an eye and she did not suffer or feel any pain and we know that she is  now watching over us like an angel guiding and protecting her loved ones.

“Nelly”  departed this life on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the age of 21 years, 7 months, and  4 days.
