Chauncy Mazel Ayers was born May 24, 1976 in Hawthorne, Nevada to the late Calvin F. Ayers and Hermena Washington Ayers.  He departed this life at the young age of 45 on November 20, 2021 at Decatur Morgan Hospital – Decatur General Campus.

He confessed hope in Christ at a young age at Somerville Road Church of Christ in Decatur, Alabama. Later in life he joined Mallard Creek Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Alabama where he remained faithful as a deacon.

Mr. Ayers was employed with Bunge Corp for 14 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin F. Ayers and his sister, Felicia Stover.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Angela Nicole Gladney Ayers; a loving mother, Hermena Ayers of Decatur, AL; four children, Nicholas Gladney, Kobe Ayers and Chiquita Ayers of Decatur, AL and Ania Wilder of Huntsville, AL; his siblings, Halika Ayers-Williams (Nate) in Kentucky, Jo-wan (Jamie) Decatur, AL, Corry (Mikalee) of Athens AL, George James (Felicia) of Decatur, AL; six grandchildren, Tristan, Alex, Dearra, Ava, Ka’Loni, and Mackenzie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and a close friend, Chris Crovo.
